have you ever tried doing a web or net? i'm not an english rider so i'm not sure if it would be the greatest thing for an english show, but it looks pretty good. its hard to explain, but u need a heck of a lot of rubber bands, first u split their whole mane into little bands, useing rubber bands, then u split each band in half and put one half together with a half of the band next to it with another rubber band, it hard to explain, but u keep splitting them in half and tying the halves together with the half next to it, u can only do it with long manes, and when ur finished it looks like a fishing net or a web, it looks really good on some horses, but it takes a lot of time and rubber bands, but it works!! thats my best suggestion
