Howdy there. As I get ready for the World Nationals in OK, I need some help on what type of braids to give a friends morgan for the show ring. His mane is really long, and they refuse to cut it. HELP PLEASE!!! |

What class is he doing? If he's going in Park, English Pleasure or Classic they leave it down. If he's going in a hunter class you can either do the plaits or do a running french braid down his crest. |

you start by the bridle path, grab 3 pieces of mane and start braiding like normal, as you move down the neck keep adding pieces of mane. Make sure you keep this as tight as possible, use gel and quick braid if necessary, to ensure it stays in and looks like it's lying down the crest of his neck.

I have seen both the running and crest braid, and id say if the horse has a nice neck do the crest,it looks very professional and nice. You need to be above the horse and you braid it like youd braid a persons french braid in their hair.
