this is a dressage plait. it is just like regular plaiting only with this special white tape wrapped around the braids. It takes quite a lot of practice to get it right.

This is called a rosette. It is just braiding small sections of a horses mane and then tieing it up in a small ball. There are a certain amount that are supposed to go on mares, geldings, and stallions. I think it is like 9 for geldings, 11 for stallions and 8 for mares, but I'm not sure.

My favorite braid is the dressage button braid. Depending on the horse's neck, you can put the white tape on or not. If you use the white tape, you better be sure you have REALLY good braids or the tape will just accentuate a terrible braid job.

I can't braid my horse's tail for anything...I just do it quickly and put in it the tailbag

the "waffle braid" is sometimes know as a "fishnet" too. my mom and i used it on our arabians when they went to shows

you can only use a fishnet with certain breeds of horses that cant have there mane pulled unlkess itsn ot a strict show.
