Braiding a mane for which shows?

In the upcmoing year or two I would like to show in hand hunter/jumper. Do you braid the mane for the breeds with thicker hairs too? I have my little mini that has an excellent form, but to braid or not to braid has arisen. She has a beaitiful long mane that O could trick into thinking its short and neat, but do you have to braid it? And whihc braid type if you do?

Minis stay down. But if you wanted to braid him, do a runon braid with a long mane, not small braids. As for hunter, braid your horse horse if they have a nice pulled mane. It should be 2-3 inches long.
