Wow devilish, your horse is a beautiful color! Man, I just french braided my friend's paint's mane, and it looked awesome! She's got a pretty long mane, not reaching the bottom of her neck, but long and beautiful! Too bad only arabians and morgans can be shows like that...

Oh yeah, it takes me about 1 and a half hours to braid my horse's mane. Here are some pics: http://community.webshots.com/user/myy0y0

before i showed morgans I showed jumpers and with those long necks briading took upwards of an hour, i prefered dressage braids due to the simpliciy but its all a matter of how your horse looks. a horse with a thicker neckgo with more braids...a horse with a longer thinner neck...go with less. good luck |

My horse's mane is really long and takes me close to 2 hours to do. I have to make the braids small and then fold them in half, then tie them up. Doing a normal mane takes about 45 mins.

I know of a couple ways to do it, but here is the way I do mine: 1. wet mane. 2. measure out each chunk, braid. 3. about half way down the braid, fold yarn in half, then braid it into the braid. 4. finish off the braid by notting the yarn at the end. 5. pull the long yarn pieces through the top of the braid with puller. 6. tie knot at bottom of braid, perhaps double knot. 7. tie a double knot on the top of the braid, pushing the braid flat on the kneck. 8. trim any hairs sticking out, and yarn. VUALAH! beautiful braids. on my horse, it took 2 and 1/2 hours. On my friends horse, the same method took less than 1 and 1/2 hours. Good luck, and happy braiding!
