I just looked to make sure, you are right! "Continental braid is also useful for long-maned horses, and creates a "net" in the mane."

i would say, just 4 a schooling show, if the main is that long it might look good, or horrible, idk...but you could do braid, and then fold them under and attatch with a rubber band...dont real classy, but it works!
