Braid in Tail Wrap halp

ok so! how do you guys get these things to stay in your horses tail. i spent some time last night getting pie's tail in it and tied it below the tail bone. the braid was a little too long so i had to loop it in itself so he woulnt step on it, but this afternoon it was halfway hanging out of his tail.
how do i get it to stay in? and is there an easier way to get his tail hair IN it?
thanks :S

Ok first after you have the tail brushed out really well take the tail wrap and tie it about 1/2 way up the tail bone. Make it tight so it will not slip down. You will know where to tie it if you fee the end of the bone and where the tail wrap start to split should be about equal.

Then take your hand and start at the bottom of one of the 3 socks. Slide your hand/arm up through the sock until you get to the top. This might take some practice so it the braid in dose not slip down. Once your hand is through the top grab 1/3 of the tail brush it out so it is separated really well. Then pull your hand/arm out while holding the 1/3 of the tail. Make sure you hold the top of the braid in and keep it from sliding off and the trail hair from getting tangled with the other tail hair. Then repeat for all 3 braid socks. Once you have the hair in 1/3s in each sock then start braiding. Once you start the braid and get about 1/2 way down take a second and until/loosen the tie at the top so you do not forget and cut off circulation too long. Then once you get it braided down past the last of the tail hair then take 2 of the socks/tubs and tie a not around the 3 sock/tub. Braid the braid in wrap tight and as you are braiding pull down with your hand are each tub as you braid down the wrap. Once you have it all braided and the end tied up then what I do as it is long and I do not want the horses stepping on it I take it and put one of the ends through the braid about 1/4 of the way up and tie it again. Then I go back up to the top and loosely tie the top. At times it will come undone at the bottom and come out but not usually if you get it good and tight.

Hope that helps. I have used this type of tail wrap for years and love them.

thread it in through the tail, below the tail bone of course, then tie a bow, and a quick wrap with vetwrap. I haven't lost one yet [:

i tie the top around the tail too, and it works fine it doesnt have to go through the tail. at the end instead of tying it i use a rubber band because tying it never works for me i find that rubber bands work much easier!!
