Is this French braid done right? This is the first time I've ever done this..

I like it! Personally, I try to keep my french braids up closer to the end of the hairs, as it takes longer for it to fall out that way IME...however, I do not show, so I don't know if my more "convenient" way is the correct way for shows

Looks like you did a great job! The only improvement I would work on is keeping it the same distance from the neck the whole way down. Try to think about the braid falling where the hair would end if it were trimmed in a straight line. It starts out with a small curve to the right length then stays the same distance from the crest of the neck the entire time, then ends just the same! This looks so close, next time, I'm sure you'll do it like a PRO!

It looks really good, but you are supposed to keep it closer to the crest, especially if you are going to do dressage or something in it. (I know I am a barrel racer, not a dressage competitor; but hey, I like to do braids.)
