Unhappy Brad's face got stepped on

Aww my poor Braddy...this is what he usually looks like....all handsome and smiley...

This is him this morning...

Last night he got jerked down by his bull and landed underneath him, and the bull stepped on his face. It just hardly grazed him though, Brad said it felt like a huge man punched him. He's so lucky, if it would have landed square on his face he would have shattered everything. It's just a little scraped up, but so swollen! He looks like a chipmunk on that side. He can't even smile normal or open his jaw very wide.

He's still got 3 more bulls to get on this weekend too. I'm not going with though, they are all way up north (6-8 hour drives away) and us girlfriends opted to stay home and let the boys go by themselves.

Poor sweetheart.... I agree... he is still very handsome.... but it sure looks like it hurts!

My heart sank when I read your thread title.... I am so glad that it wasn't worse.

Do you think he could ride a bull in one of these?

Probably not, eh?
Best wishes to him on his other rides.

Thanks Cathy! His youngest brother rides in a face mask but Brad tried it at a practice and hated it. It fit funny and he couldn't see properly, so he doesn't like them.

He didn't lose any teeth at least LOL At a bull riding last fall his cousin's hubby broke his jaw and lost a bunch of teeth. It was pretty gross.

Any Bull rider that still has all his teeth and no big glaring scars is doing pretty darned good

Those boys are ALL insane because those bulls are SOOO bloody big, strong and powerful.... The bronc riders are a bit crazy but not INSANE and don't tend to get the tar beat out of them so consistently.... OUCH...

It's really good it was only a 'graze' though, man reconstructive surgery frmo a solid stomp would be OH so NOT fun....

LOL Thanks guys, he is so lucky it wasn't worse. My dad broke his jaw and shattered his cheek bone (from being a farrier...that's when he decided to pack up hist stuff and leave if a horse was too bad LOL!!!) and no, reconstructive surgery is no fun at all!!

Brad doesn't have any scars *knock on wood* and he's been riding steers since he was 10, Jr.Bulls starting at 14...so he's been riding for 10 years. Worst injury he's had is a broken collar bone *again knock on wood*.

My brother (the saddle bronc rider LOL) has been way more beat up than Brad! But that's all from steer riding as a kid, not the broncs. LOL

I'm uploading the video now (will take a while as I'm on "Fast dial up" LOL!!!)...it's a bit dark as the rodeo went on pretty long and they didn't get on their bulls until 10:30 pm but you can see it okay. It knocked him a little silly, he got up and ran but fell down again (on his face*sigh*) while I was sitting there in the stands with one of the bull fighter's girlfriends taping and almost wetting my pants...LOL
