Boots

I am looking to buy a new pair of field boots. I currently have a pair of rubber dress boots:

they worked great, but now i need a pair of show boots and these and too big in the calf and foot.

I am looking at these:

and

the 2 new ones are also rubber. the second has a zip-back and the first doesn't.

I am wondering if anyone knows if the zipper on the 2nd rubber one will allow you to keep your heel down or not? any imput would be great.

You should look for a boot that doesn't go straight down from top to bottom. The ones that curve in near the ankle fit better. I prefer the ones with the zipper up the back, as they fit better.

Persoally, I like leathe boots sooo much more than synthetic boots. They're alot easier to keep your heels down in, and they're generally just more comfortable. In my opinion, they'd be worth 15$ more.

Man! There was a great pair of $600 show boots at the store yesterday on sale for $145 :O - & I'm too frickin' short!!!! AHHHHH!!!!

Anyway - I'd go with leather, they look much better & really aren't all that hard to take care of as long as you put in the time to keep them brilliant.

IMO for only $15 more, the leather ones would be the best. Leather is supposed to hold up so much more...
And are the other ones rubber or synthetic? I would stay away from rubber, but synthetic leather might be OK-I have synthetic paddock boots and they're great. But with tall boots, who knows?

if i was you i was just spend the money of nice leather show boots. your heels will stay down and they work great! just keep them clean and condition them and they will last for a long time! the Mountain Horse boots are really nice then have a zippers in the back. my show boots are Moutain Horses. the rubber one are really hard to keep your heel down and when your showing the judge will really notice that in equatation <dont know how to spell lol >

i hope this helps!
