Red face Body Clip Gone Wrong!

Omg, First, I WILL NOT post pictures. LMAO I decided to body clip Stevey yesterday. I'd been back and forth about it for weeks, but bit the bullet and begin shaving away. I was prepared for the long, monotonus task ahead of me, but unfortunatly, my clippers- were not. SO- I now have a horse who looks like he was attacked by aliens, with a clip job resembling crop circles. (Oh yeah, did I mention that is only ONE side?) So yeah.....tonight we go clipper shopping.

Well, about 1/2 way down his side they decided they were dull (these were BRAND NEW!) So...I switched to my "back up blade"...finished his barrel on the left side, started on his neck. LMAO....***groan*** Um...yeah...he has stripes.

Um- NO. No pictures will be taken. I was like... "Its a darned good thing I own this horse, cause if he belonged to anyone else, I'd be in BIG trouble right now......Amy is gonna kill me!" LMAO!

Um...Kate just laughed. She thinks its pretty funny- do remember Moe's "Summer" cut? ...... Yeah....its THAT bad!

Stripes (blade tracks) can be caused by several things...one being dull blades.
The others would be clipping a dirty horse and pushing the clippers thru the hair too fast.
I would go back over the places where the tracks are and remove them. Then slow down some. Do not push the clippers thru the hair faster than the blades can cut it. While it might seem like your taking more time than necessary if you clip the spot correctly so you do not have to go back over it a second time you are then no longer wasting time going back over the same area again.
Be sure to use a product like Cool Lube and Blade Wash while clipping.
Also it is a good idea to clean and lubricate your clippers according to the manufactures recommendations before and after a big clip job such as a body clip.
