Boa Boots-A good Alternative?

Has anyone had any experience with Boa Boots or something similar? I don't like to keep Della shod during the winter because we don't do much riding. Depending ton the weather we do ride occasionally and I would like her to have the protection. She has very tender hooves and is very ouchy on just the smallest of rocks.

Please let me know any experiences you have had using something like this whether good or bad.

Thanks,

I have used Old Macs. The worked great, and those suckers were not coming off.

Boas and Epics as well as Old Macs are good choices. It mainly comes down to what fits the horse best.

NeighNeigh uses these type of boots, I think they are Old Macs, on her arab mare's front feet when they ride on the trails. I know she loves them.

Nope, Shannon, I use BOA BOOTS! I LOVE them! I used to use Easy Boots, but I didn't like the "teeth" digging into Image's hooves and they were so hard to get off after a ride. I've had my Boas for almost 7 months now, and they are holding up great. The Boa Boots are awesome because they are easy to put on and take off, and I've never had one come off during a ride, even when cantering or climbing steep terrain. I HIGHLY recommend buying the gators, too, since it reduces the amount of dirt and sand that creeps into the boots. The gators also provide more protection around the coronet band and pastern area. Also, it's a good idea to buy a couple of extra caps since those darned things seem to walk off and you have to use the caps to keep the gear free of sand. If you have any questions about these boots, PM me.
