BLM Online Auction for Older Mustangs

    SPREAD THE WORD:

New BLM online auction this week. They are offering a group of older mustangs, 12-25 years, mostly stallions, for SALE. These are the horses that are at high risk for slaughter thanks to Sen. Conrad Burns. These are bigger, draftier style mustangs in some fantastic colors. The horses are located in Nevada. Does anyone have it in their heart to help save these majestic wild creatures from the horrific fate that awaits them?
    Here they are: https://www.blm.gov/adoptahorse/onlinegallery.php?horseCategory=248
Also, on the adoption list is this lovely girl, who is 7 years old and has an old knee injury that makes her companion sound only:

They even have a NJ shipping option for her.

That poor mare was forced to run the Calico round up on that knee. I'll bet BIG money it served to make the injury worse and has left her permanently lame. What a big GORGEOUS mare.

I love her! Saw her on another post I think, to bad about the knee, as you said running her like that for the round up couldn't have helped her at all.

These are the ones I have been admiring for several days now.
If only I had a ton of money and alot of property. I would take every single one in a heart beat-- cool colour or not. They are fine horses.

Hopefully people who do have the money and property to take in a horse or two will come forward. Hope these horses find great homes.
Apparently, when Parkie reads my posts, she clears her throat.

I am going to bid on the mare with the injured knee when the auction opens. I have been searching for a companion for my 9 year old mare.
I personally think she'd be a perfect companion for Shadow, with some taming.

I am also bidding on mare #0826. She's a beauty.

    Wish me luck!!

GOOD LUCK! The 15 year old dominant white mare is magnificent. If I had the space I'd be bidding on her 100%.

    What is her number?

And I wish I could take all of them! Unfortunatly, two is my limit at this time.
Stud #1431 (at the very bottom) is absolutly beautiful. I want him as well!

The people I purchased Shadow from have like, four rescued mustangs, I believe.
I am in love with their red-dun mustang mare, Classy. She is an awsome trail horse.

#0832. I'm MADLY in love with that mare and stallion #1631, #1300, #1363, #1711 = one of the most amazing studs EVER.

But those horses in general are MAGNIFICENT. I don't want to see a single one of those older horses go to slaughter or into poor homes. ESPECIALLY the 25 year old mare who should have been allowed to live and die wild and free.

I agree with you TR; these horses need to go to good homes, but they really should have been left in the wild. They weren't harming a thing. Especially that 25 y/o mare.

I really wish gathering these beautiful horses was illegal.
