BLM killing mustangs!!!!HELP!!!

Care2 subscriber since Jul 30, 2008 Unsubscribe | Forward to a Friend | Take Action

Dear Grace,
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will meet in September to decide what to do with America's wild horses. Recently, the BLM announced plans to kill America's wild horses, rather than effectively manage these majestic beauties and the public lands they roam. Please join us in opposing this plan today »
The BLM plan is not mercy killing, under any stretch of the imagination. The BLM has mismanaged its budget and is now trying to lower its costs by taking aim at wild horses.
This plan is the first time federal officials have proposed killing wild horses since Congress introduced federal protections in 1971 for America's mustangs. Congress described them as "living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West."
But now our wild horses are paying the price for years of bureaucratic mismanagement.
You can make a difference. Please stand up for our wild horses and send a comment to BLM today »
Thanks for taking action!

Natasha

Save Our Wild Mustangs! The BLM plan is killing pure and simple, to balance the books for an agency whose reckless management has caused immeasurable harm to a national treasure. Our government should manage the land effectively to preserve the free-roaming mustangs, rather than kill our country's symbol of freedom and independent spirit.

Lie...bold, outright, lie.

Lie...outright lie. Prove HOW the BLM has mismanaged it's budget.

Yes it is..there are too many horses for the range they are on. There are no natural predators left (or very few left) to let nature manage them on it's own.

I have researched the topic. I understand how the BLM works, and what is does....and....I have a lifelong friend who works for the U.S. Forest Service. I also understand how these types of petitions work. They tell outright lies to make their position sound better, to make you want to do something about it. For example....

They are not wild horses....they are feral horses.....big difference. So, if they'll lie about that...what else will they lie about????

feral means wild i believe. (dictonary.reference.com)
–adjective 1.existing in a natural state, as animals or plants; not domesticated or cultivated; wild. 2.having reverted to the wild state, as from domestication: a pack of feral dogs roaming the woods. 3.of or characteristic of wild animals; ferocious; brutal.
[Origin: 1595–1605; < ML, LL ferālis bestial, wild, equiv. to L fer(a) wild beast + -ālis -al1]

so is any of this petition true?
couldnt the BLM sue for slander?
if they are lying like you say,
serious legal action can be taken.

wild and feral both mean non-domesticated.
there really isnt a difference.

if you go to a BLM adoption you'll notice that most of the horses and burros stand in the middle of their pen and look at the ppl like they're monsters

Incorrect. I have been to many adoption events and there are always quite a few that will come up and sniff hands, hats, and even take a few bites of hay from someone's hand.

Sure some do stay in the middle, they're scared. They were just transported in a huge semi and unloaded into a strange place. 99% of them tame down fairly quickly.
