Blister Week of July 22nd...PICS

Well, all is going even better.

we WILL lose and currently losing the skin from the pasterns down. Hooves are still intact though.

Very sore in the right hind today, but swelling is still looking great!

He is on Pred, Bute, and tucoprim still. (sp?) But I didn't see Dex listed on the treatment board when I went out there today.

Just watching him, it looks to be more hip related.....however touch the pasterns and he trys to get away as fast as he can. So the leg itself is still tender But he can't rotate his hip very well to move away. He has issues stretching it directly back....

nose bridge is still swollen, but I think it is from the damage from the purpura when he was busting vessels up there...

Under his face, it is still puffier than usual....

Now, this foot has had scar tissue before....not had much hair in the past....

but looking at it, the skin is cracking off....this one is the worst one of all his feet.

HEY Look at me!!!

Well, I'm glad to see his pretty face

Let me ask though- what is going on with his pasterns and loosing skin?? is that from the swelling? or did I miss something else?

For what all Blister has been thru BW.....I think he looks pretty darn good!!!! That one foot that has lost the hair, looks the same way as all 4 of Blossums.

What are the reasons that he can't move his hip very well?? Does HPV attack the muscle or bones?

From the swelling, cracking the pasterns to smitherines. All 4 have the chapping and yuck on them....that one is the worst though...

Lacy......

The immune system, as the vet explained it, attacks the muscles. And much of the swelling focused in on the hock...especially that hock.

I haven't put him on glucosamine/msm/hyA (whatever the abbreviation for it is)

but later this week, I'll put him on it. I waited a bit, to see what the pred would do.

wow, he looks so much better-

Between you and Stormy...it is going to be a draw at whose horse looses the most skin I think...

I hope he continues on a healing track..

I am so glad to hear he is getting better! Is pred. like prednisone (sp?) in people? Every day I come on here I check for an update! I am glad I got one today!

Wow! He's looking great, all things considered. What an ordeal you and he have been through. I've been keeping up with the updates and it's so good to see him looking like a horse again!!

oooo, okay. I have been trying to keep track from the distance and learning many things along the way. I figured that was the reason for loosing skin- but wasn't sure.
