Blaze gone Black?

Oh goodness, here we go again with the funk... I recently discovered that Beau has A Black Fungus underneath the blaze. I wipehis face off daily with a sponge because he so easily gets fungus if not clean, and we are battling thrush and other fungus as of right now... Down here its always so hot and humid, I think that does not help, and he is just one of those horses who gets the nasty fungus to keep his owner busy... But what should I do? I am scared to scrub it off because I learned with his face, if you scrub off funk, the hair doesn't grow back for Forever... I am afraid this may be the only way though, but what is something I can use on his face and around his eyes that will not irrate him?

Thanks

We don't get the same black fungus you are talking about...but one thing I swear by for any kind of fungal infection on my horses is listerine. I don't know what effect it would have on the eyes, but I have used it on my horses faces- applied by a sponge.
Sometimes I use it full strength- other times I'll mix it half and half with water.

I agree with Dana. I always use Listerine for my horses Fungus'. I haven't heard of that kind of fungus but my black gelding gets summer rot and my paint gets scratches and listerine works amazingly for both of them.

I really like Fungasol, its relatively cheap and works great.
It cleared up REALLY bad rainrot in my TB in 3 days. I was using some other expensive **** that omade no improvements over 7 days.
Not to mention Fungasol had no owie factor like all the other things I have tried!
