| Senior Member+ | I don't know that brand, but I use middle weight blankets in winter when it's wet and below 45 degrees and down to about 30. When we fall too much below 30 depending on other factors I'll sometimes add another liner under it. I can't imagine you'd ever need more than that in FL... in fact it may be too warm. You may do fine with a light weight or just a waterproof sheet. The threadcount is not high in that blanket, 600 denier is not real strong, 1200 or more is better. That will affect how easily it rips and tears. It depends how often you'll use it and how hard your horse is on blankets how well it would wear. If you were in a part of the country where he'd wear it alot, it won't last as long as a better one. But then... it's not expensive either. |

| Senior Member+ | At 180gm of fill, it's a fairly lightweight blanket. In the 200's is pretty medium weight, and approaching and beyond 300gm is in the heavyweight range. What temperature this is suitable for depends on a lot of factors - whether the horse is clipped, or has a thin Winter coat or a thick one, whether it's raining or not, sunny or not, windy or not, whether the horse is very young or very old or has issues that prevent proper body temperature regulation. Given where you are, this will likely be fine for your "cold" nights. Let the horses tell you if they need it. Let them have their Winter coat if you can. But if they start shivering, or doing a lot of running around as a possible attempt to keep warm, then they need something extra.

| Senior Member | I'm not far from you just above the GA line and I have and use blankets heavier than that. All of mine have a sheet and at least a 220 fill for those nights it gets cold. Not all get them at the same temps but if its below 35 they are all in the heavier of the blankets. |
