Smile Bit of advice

Hi everyone.
I have learned Bailey a mare Ive worked with for a few years, has started biting her tom thumb bit. She doesnt pull at it, she is just biting it. her teeth are fine, and the vets says all ok.
I think she is bored. Heres my trouble. Bailey was really misused with a bar bit with twisted wire, she wont work well with a curb or a straight bit. I have a French egg butt. Which Im going to try today. But does anyone have any ideas?
I dont want the poor girl bored, but I dont want her to revert back to when she was so hard handed before. Any bits Ive seen with a cricket, will be too much for her. I have considered a rubber bit. But I dont know.

Thanks

I think a rubber bit would be a good choice, and they even come flavored. Yummy!

Ok well she was a perfect gem. She recalled her leg cues reasonably well, and backed up like a pro. She was great. My son took some pics, they are loaded.
The bit seemed to work well, but the brakes are a bit rusty. I think we will keep at it for a few weeks, see how she does.
But Im pleased. Whoever trained her sure did a good job.. lol Makes ya feel good to se your work still working years down the road.
QTR we chatted about maybe a mech hack today. But not right yet.
