Unhappy Big dilemma!!!

So, here's the story:

I wanted to ride at this other barn because I wasn't happy at my old one. Once I found out this new barn is twice as expensive, I brought up the idea of working on the weekends for half off of the month's payment. My dad seemed to think that the owner of this new barn wouldn't agree to that, since she doesn't even know me. HOWEVER, I was talking to some of her students and they said they REALLY need help on Saturdays. But before I found this out, I e-mailed my old coach and asked her if she had any room for me to come back on Saturdays.

Now, I have no idea what to do. I wanted to try out this new barn SO badly because it had so many advantages in comparison to my old barn... but now, if this deal does work with the new barn, I'll feel SO terrible about e-mailing my old coach and then changing my mind...

This is my payment idea for my parents if I do ride at the new barn:
  • I work every Saturday before and/or after my lesson for half off the month payment
  • Since half of $170 is $85, I could pay $15 a month and you pay $75 like you did at Meadowvale
  • OR I can pay $40 (instead of giving my allowance) a month and you pay $45

If you are not happy with where you are now and you like this other place. I would deffinatly go for it and ask! Can't hurt. Also if they say they need help at that barn then I would ask soon I'm sure you will get it. I hope everything works out for you.

Thanks so much. It's just dealing with the guilt of not returning to my old barn that will be hard. If I show this season, it would be so awkward seeing my old coach there.

That's what everyone is saying, haha. I agree totally, but I can't help feeling bad. Plus, the new barn has so many more reliable school horses available. I just don't know when I should bring it up with my dad because he knows I already e-mailed my old coach, so I don't want him to get mad at me for screwing up.

My advice is to follow your heart. I believe you already have your answer, but don't want to hurt feelings. ASk yourself this.... Which barn will give me more opportunities to learn and grow as a horse person? (I do believe you already answered this.) Then explain to your dad your reasonings. I would think he would understand.
I hope this helps.
