Betta hiding part 2!!

Wow, lol, let a thread go for a few hours and look what happens.

As some of you may guess, I don't want this thread closed. I wanted advice on why the heck my betta was behaving oddly.

For the record, I know quite a bit about bettas. I know quite a bit about a lot of things. I am not so high and mighty to think I know everything, which is why it is so helpful and therapeutic to post on such a helpful forum!

My betta IS fine. If he is sick, I will keep you posted. I have had friends with bettas, but never owned one personally, (i've bought a few for friends) and had NEVER heard of such behaviour in a fish. It is quite strange to walk into your room and see your fish at a very odd, uncomfortable looking angle under a decoration!!! I, of course, love all of my animals and instead of thinking I know everything ask because there are quite a few people with bettas on here. When you don't ask a question is when you get in trouble.

Thanks for everyone who posted. I guess there was no point in this thread, but I was a little ticked to see it had been closed because of one poster.

How bout we post pics of our bettas!??! And discuss betta behaviour! I have never seen a betta purposely make a 'nesting' area and hide under a rock??? is this common??

Oh, also to add... no matter what I have read about bettas, none ever said ANYTHING about this weird behaviour.

So there Doesn't matter how much you research one subject, experience is the best teacher.

My betta sometimes hides on the bottom. He wedges himself somewhere to have a nap.

I get the bubble nests too, which I am familiar with. It's fun to watch him do it.

He had just never ever done this before. ANd then yesterday, after I left my mother to take care of him for the last part of the week I thought maybe she had not fed him or something. But nope, he has just started a new habit!

Yep, just got him a week and a half ago. Two weeks tops. He's in a 5 gallon tank, and he seems very happy. His name is Bubba. I've had almost every other kind of fish under the sun, and finally decided to take the plunge and buy a betta. I was weary of putting him in with my normal fish, and I had just gotten a fair sized aquarium and put him in there.

I have 3 betta's....mine stay at the bottom...or top, of their tank quite often, they make bubble nests, but if they think they are getting a girlfriend they are sadly mistaken!!! haha

Neptune likes to flip the rocks in his tank maybe he's trying to hide under them too...i'm not sure i've never asked Neptune about it!
