ok i read the whole thread and responses. i think your best bet would be to get the new saddle, then comebak with pics, then ask anyway i use baby pads and a "el cheepo" fleecy halfpad. i also have a bevel pad for good occasions. chico is just fine in these, as he does not seem to be in any pain, and his stride has improves so much from before. so keep us updsted, and share pics of ur new saddle

If we're talking Western here... After you get your new saddle look into Impact Gel's or Classic Equine pads. I love them and have no complaints!
