Smile Best Fly Spray

What is your favorite fly spray, and why? If you know the price, and where it is available, that would be great. Thanks

That stuff that comes in the dark blue bottle.. can't think of it now... in combination with that freedom spot-on. Now I can tell you I don't like that new stuff with "citronella" (sp?) that came out... it made Kristay break out in hives.

I personally like Bronco II ....its cheap and it actually WORKS. You can buy a regular size bottle for $4-6.00 at Tractor Supply Co.

For chemical based sprays, I like Absorbine Concentrate, Repel Xp Concentrate, Flysect Super-C Concentrate, and Absorbine Super Shield (only thing I don't like about this is that it's not concentrated)... For non-chemical fly sprays, I really like Deo Lotion Concentrate - Last year the bugs were REALLY bad an my horse was the only one that didn't get a single bite... it smells to high heaven, but it works *lol* Plus it has sunscreen in it, so it keeps your horse from bleaching out. I don't like to buy ready-mixed sprays, mostly because it's not as economical, and I'm poor *lol* Much cheaper in the long run to buy a concentrate

Most tack shops that I have been to carry all of these, as well as most online suppliers. I'll check through some catalogs and get some prices for you )

Dover Saddlery (www.doversaddlery.com) carries Deo Lotion ($16.90 for 500 ml or $29.99 for a 1000 ml concentrate, and is on sale now for $12.90 for 500ml and $23.90 for 1000 ml - I got a 1000 ml... I spray my horse at least twice a day and I still have a lot of mine left from last year!) Repel Xp ($12.70 for a pint or $22.90 for a Quart of concentrate) and Ultra Shield (16.90 for a Quart or $49.90 for a gallon - ready to use, and is on sale for $14.90 for QT and 44.90 for gallon)

Schnieder's Saddlery (www.sstack.com) carries Deo Lotion, but only in the ready to use form, not the concentrate (500 ml for $9.95 or 1000ml for $16.50... much cheaper to go concentrate), Absorbine Concentrate (32. oz for $20.95), Ultra Shield (it's $.05 more than Dover's prices) and Repel Xp ($12.95 for a Pint, $20.95 for a Quart, or $79.95 for a gallon of concentrate)

Country Supply (www.countrysupply.com) has Ultra Shield (13.90 for a Quart, $14.20 Qt. with sprayer, or $39.90 for a Gallon) and Repel Xp ($10.95 for a pint, $18.95 for a Quart, or $68.95 for a Gallon of concentrate)

American Livestock Supply (www.americanlivestock.com) has Flysect Super C ($9.86 for 16 oz or $26.74 for 32 oz of concentrats... would actually be cheaper to get two 16 oz than one 32 oz *lol*), Repel Xp ($8.50 for a pint, $16.75 for a Qt, or $58.50 for a Gallon), Ultra Shield ($10.25 for Qt with sprayer - $10.55 without... figure that one out , or $31.00 for a Gallon), and Absorbine Concentrate (13.55 for a Qt)... thay also carry Eqyss Summer Defense Marigold Spray, which is all natural, and does work rather well ($10.25 for 32 oz. or $32.25 for a gallon)

Hope I helped If you have any questions you can pm me

I use Endure sweat-resistant fly spray. It's a bit higher, but it does the job. You end up using less in the long run.

I know that www.doversaddlery.com has it. www.valleyvet.com has it listed for 16.49 and if you buy 12 or more, it's 15.95. www.horsehealthusa.com has it listed for 15.99 and you can get a Gal for 46.95.
