Before and After - spring fitting...

So thought this would be a fun thread. I just brought my 9 month old into the barn to start getting him cleaned up for late spring/summer shows. I thought it would be fun to show our progress as we go. anyone else is welcome to join in or add there before and after photos from another year.

Before 1/13/2009

oh yeah i have my work cut out for me!

he has been out on pasture all fall and winter. he is now in the barn being blanketed and under lights. he is getting groomed daily, learning clippers... bathing once its warm out. we are fine tuning his feeding a little bit more since we have a good true 100% control over it since he is not in with any other horses. in about a month he will also start getting worked. he will be worked up to 15 mins of free lounging in a round pen 5 days a week max.

he is getting "cleaned up" to show later this spring.

SPB. your guy is cute! switch a sock and they look pretty dang similar. lol. yeah my guy is halter and wp bred. he sure seems to be one of those funky growers which is definitely making him a late bloomer. but i figure LATER this year it wont hurt to get him out there and get some show experience under his belt. see some horses, see some different ground.

I know exactly what you mean by him loving mud... I think it's my colts ambition in life to give me a heart attack because he loves laying down on one side in the mud and letting it dry on him, then running up to me and from a distance caked much looks like blood... especially red clay mud... I've panicked I don't know how many times because I've seen my boy from a distance with loads of caked mud on him that looked too much like dried blood for comfort. Lol.
