Basic dressage concepts for the learning rider.

I sort of let it slip in another thread but yes I am in the process of writing a book on dressage training.

My aim is not for absolute beginners nor for high level dressage ( might consider adding if this ever flies) but rather for those that has some knowledge but can still get stuck and might lose focus of where they are going. Chapter one is complete and now working on chapter two.

The hardest thing is getting a publisher to publish it or doing that myself. These things take some time ( like a year sometimes) so nothing will be forthcoming for some time.

That sounds like a fantastic idea, I will have to def. get a copy if it gets published. You could also put in some commen problems that ppl might have like, if a horse is a drifter and all that how those problems can be fixed, if the horse doesn't go on the correct canter lead, what you should do to fix those problems. Like maybe survey some horse ppl and find out what they think the most frequent training problem is that they have or know of and give some tips on how to solve those problems!!
Great idea though, the book sounds like it will be awesome!!

I will look forward to getting a copy .

Might I suggest a chapter on equipment and its basic use? There are a ton of tools used in dressage that I know nothing about and I am sure there are others so it might be something useful to have . A description of a proper dressage saddle, different bits, and lunging equipment would be a wonderful resource to have.

Also, perhaps some simple practice manuvers and tests for suppling and such? Those are always good to have!
