Update post 150Fire near Erika's barn -Evacuating horses

Southern CA's "fire season" has started tremendously early this year which is a horribly scary concept. I don't think we've had a minimal fire season in years --- I thoroughly dread this year.

Just got a text from Erika saying that the power is out because of the fire burning right through the power lines. The fire is less than a mile away from the barn (and the BOs house) and the winds are continuing to pick up in the direction of the barn.

Please continue to keep them in your thoughts. This is such a scary situation and all we can do is hope that it turns out okay.

Wow! I hope their barn doesn't go. At least it sounds like all the horses are way at the other side of SB at the polo fields. What about Erika's house? I thought she lived fairly close to the barn?

She says that her house is not in danger... I know it is close to the barn, but it must be the opposite direction from where the fire is blowing.
