Question Ballpark price for teeth float..

I just wanted to see what some of the prices are out there for teeth floating with the vet NOT with an equine dentist. I have no idea what to expect and just wanted to get some price ideas. I realize all of us are from different parts of the country ( and beyond!) Any info would be helpful.

Vet-$40.00

Equine dentist $75.00 for simple float.

I would save your money and hire a dentist. It's like asking a mechanic to perform a kidney transplant.

Average for local anesthesia and float - $90-125

Our dentist charges $45. He doesn't use anesthesia. Don't know what the vet charges but I would assume it's a lot! It costs $45 just for the house call!

If I used the vet I would be £28 (about $52) for the call out and about £20 ($38) for the rasping (floating) - so I would pay $90

Using an equine dental technician I am £35 - (about $68)

Anesthesia and float I believe was between $125-145. I'm glad it's only once a year!

Last time was either $45 or $55 for an equine dentist (liscensed to legally practice and properly sedate). IMO, if the person can not legally sedate your horse, don't use him no matter how good he is. It's not worth it (unless he brings along a vet to sedate the horse for him).

Last time I got the dentist/vet out it cost us $500! but that was because she needed an incisor alignment...
ummn average for me is $90..our vet brings his friend who is a dentist for all floating/teeth check appointments.

Last time was 81 for the tranq and around 30-40 for the float.. I will have to look for my recipit.. then if they do incisor work or put in bit seats it is more.

We do not need to sedate for rasping - thank goodness or it would be even more expensive and we have it done twice a year!
