Question Bald spot on top of tail..

well i dont have any pics but here goes anyways:

My gelding has the spot on his tail (kinda at the top)that is bald...He has had it for atleast 6 years(i am told from previous owner) and i bought him and decided i would be the miracle worker. I have tried everything! First i thought well if there is any fungus or anything i will kill it. so i put tea tree oil on it for about 3 weeks straight. The only thing that happened was...nothing. So we got MTG. We have been putting it on for about 3 weeks... all the hair around the spot is noticably longer but it remains bald. I dont even know what it could possibly be.. any thoughts?

A scar? I am not sure about horses....but when I was 5- I had to have 16 stitches across front of my head at my hairline...and hair has never grown on that scar.

Last summer my mare somehow scraped the hair off the top of her tail, so she had this round, raw, bare patch. I just kept it clean and put bag balm on it. It got this dry crust over it, so I peeled it off, and the skin underneath was all healed, and the hair started growing in really fast. But after six+ years... I don't know if there's anything you can do or not. I hope you find something that works!

Look anything like this?

I *HOPE* this is temporary...I believe it is as hair is already filling back in. (It was caused by allergic reaction)

I'm told an anti-fungal helps....

But after 6 years...I'm guessing its not going to miraculously start growing in now

cowgurl it looks a bit like that..a little smaller and a more definet spot if ya know what i mean.

He doesnt rub it and i know for a fact because he has ALL his hair around that one spot and when we put MTG on it the hair that grew is still growing and still long. plus the spot is about the size of(ok this is all i can think of at the moment) but the size of a baby carrot lol.

I really want to try mega tek rebuilder but since its so expensive i dont want to buy it and it not work. plus mtg is working great on his tail length and the other horses so i have a hair growth product that is working already.
