Balance in trailer?

Is there anyway to teach a horse balance in a trailer? My mare has always been hauled in a stock or slant load trailer, now i have a 2 horse bumper pull and she falls eveytime I turn. I slow way down and take it easy but she still falls.

Like falls falls, or just kinda makes a lot of noise? Ringo does that too and there really isnt much ya can do. We just always be sure to have his legs wrapped up good.

It is like her hind legs slide oud and she lays against the side. She does not go all the way down. The crazy thing is she only woes it with left turns.

Is there enough shavings down, or rubber mats? Is it a straight load, and maybe you are giving her too much space so she has to move a lot to lean. Also just maybe tow her to the parking lot etc and practice turns with her going super slow (5mph or slower) and then gradually working it up.

it shouldn't matter whether its a slant or straight load as far as her leaning and compensating for the turns. Of course theres a difference if you were hauling her open in a stock trailer as opposed to a straight load but I would think it way more likely for her to lean/go off balance/slip in an open stock, weird.
Rubber mats or something else non slippery are a good idea and many people think they are going slower than they actually are
Question? Are you watching her do this or just guessing at what the noise is about?

Your horse is geting disoriented when you turn and her feet are sliding from her trying to correct it.Try puting her in the other side and do some gentle practice to see if she can stop bracing against the side. Be careful if you ride back there to see what is going on.

is she really falling- there are some horses that panic and anticipate the turn and throw themselves- for whatever reason -( scramblers) . One i know would do that and they took the divider out and she was fine if she could stand slanted- she would not do the two horse though. I think they finally got her to stand up herself in the right direction after alot of time. I guess maybe don't go so far -maybe a short hop to town and back til she feels safer. she may have had a bad experience at one time and is just scared.

have you ever sat in a trailer while someone drives? try it - youll see how hard it is to balance and how much it moves. try getting the passenger to hold a glass of water and drive without spilling it... appart from that i cant really help sorry

i rode in the back of many a trailer with first timer babies- and yea- it sure is hard- makes you kind of dizzy and disoriented. Anyone that is going to drive a trailer with a horse in it should ride back in thier own trailer and see how noisy it is too- i used about ten cans of Dip it on the chains and hinges and stuff -its deafening .Im the one that sits in the back on the cell phone yelling at hubby - "slow down- quit stopping so short- and of course you get back - "Im only doing 20mph! always leads to a fight!!
