Bad Ultrasound...

My vet was just out and ultrasounded our mare... she should be about 45 days prego, and there was NO baby... She has absorbed the foal, really stinks as it is too late to re breed... Oh well... I'm bummed.

Sorry to hear that. Just curious why it is too late to rebred? I have a mare here being bred now and two more coming next week.

I think because of racing and wanting the baby to mature asap?

Andi, I'm sorry your mare isn't in foal.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've seen that blank screen myself more than a few times...

Was there activity in the ovaries? Sometimes things do get missed, I would still tease for the next month just to be sure.

oh that's too bad, sorry to hear this. Why is it too late? Have you seen her come into season, maybe you could catch her on her next cycle??

Well - depending on the area of the country and the discipline you are breeding for, this might well be too late to breed ...

We have a ton of mares coming in in the next 30 days, that are just starting the whole breeding process and we will probably be breeding well into September once again

For me - July is plenty late enough. If we dont catch them by mid July, I give up until next year ...

We breed TB's, and are looking for early foals... It's a cycle we try to stay on, she would have a late foal next year and an even later one the following yr... we will give her this year off, and start fresh in 08...

Thanks for your nice comments guys.
