Bad news again-might put her down PRAY PRAY PRAY

Well, theres an arab mare at the barn that Volts at and she has cushings diseaase. Shes about 27 years old now and she wont move, eat, and all the horses are picking on her. Carole, the owner of the barn and Fleets owner, decided to put her to sleep. Shes going to be put down sometime before winter if she doesnt start eating again. She tryed upping her meds and that didnt work. I'm really upset becuase this horse is one of the sweetest horses out there. she wouldnt hurt a fly. I take her in everytime i take volt in and i groom her and give her some treats. I love her almost as much as I love Volt. Please pray for her to get her spirits back and start eating and moving around more. I love this horse soo much and it'll be really though to see her go.

I am so sorry. She will be in my thoughts and prayers. Poor little thing. *hugs*
Atleast the owner said she would wait for winter...that still gives her some time.

Its awful but you have to think what is best for her. If you really care for a horse the kindest thing you can do sometimes is let them go. I will keep my fingers crossed for her to recover her spirits, but i will also keep my fingers crossed that if the worst should happen you are strong enough to let her go with dignity, and that you remember all your friends on the forum are here for you.

thanks everyone. its going to be really tough for everyone at the barn as well as me. any ideas for little gifts when she does get put down? I was thinking of taking pictures of her and putting them in frames and giving everyone at the barn a picture of her. do you like that idea?
