Bad news :(

Our friend just called. She bred her mare this spring to Player (after the Vet telling her that the mare would never conceive, I inseminated her and she did take)....She found Que down this AM and went to check her, only to find blood coming out of both ears and she had apparently hit her head/neck on the rails hard enough to cause this... got the Vet on the phone and she tried to get up, but was flailing around so bad she had to duck under the hay delivery truck to keep from getting hurt. In all that panic, the mare hit her back leg and shattered it, causing her, and her Player baby that would have been due in March to be put down.

The mare was an own daughter of Quorum too. She was really excited about that breeding, especially after we got her in foal. At least she wasn't hurt in the whole ordeal. One less little Player coming into the world next year

I will. Usually she just calls to see what's up and she couldn't even hardly get out her name when she left the message.

OMG thats awful....I feel so bad for her what a horrible thing and to loose 2 at that ........my prayers ..............

She didn't have the strength to have her opened to see what she had in side either. Poor thing. Super sweet mare, never made any noise or problems while she was at our house to get bred either. Not a massive mare in body, but had some good straight legs, good feet, big doe eyes.
