I would try the change to what you said in your first post. Some horses simply can not tolerate high amounts of grains or grains period. And it can often show up as a skin issue.

I would work up to what you initially stated and see how it goes. Sometimes you need to tinker with the diet a little. But what you have listed is a good starting point.

thank you all

well is skin is looking better, well no bald spots anymore yay, started using MTG about a week ago and looks better, its just hard to use because when i see him it sunny, so i put it on him and feed him in his lean too, he doesnt look sunburnt yet. im still going to change his feed because the amount is not good for him. thanks for all that replyed.
if i have a choice, the purina food and flax or purina and sunflower seeds.
i dont think i can afford both this month. but can either or.
i know the flax helps him all around and the sunflower seeds give him weight.
So i think i will choose the flax seed and of course feeding the purina.

Actually, if you're dealing with a weight issue, I would opt for buying the BOSS now and the flax later. (Though beware that a bag of flax will last one horse forever. You will have to buy BOSS much more often depending of course on how much you're feeding.)
