Bad dandruff in horse's tail

I was looking at my horse's tail last night, and I noticed that he has horrible dandruff. Has anyone tried a human dandruff shampoo on their horse? Do you think it would work? Just currious.

I used to use head and shoulders on Kristay. But you can try using MTG or listerine.... but if you have a grey/light colored horse, I don't suggest MTG.. it turns a white mane brown since it attracks dust.

Thanks. I wonder if I could like delute it, or something. I have this special sariesis medication shampoo, it helps slow the drying of your scalp or something, I wonder if that would help.

Head and Shoulders, Selsen Blue, those are both just fine to use on horse and canines alike. Psorissis shampoo would also be safe to use .... BUT no matter WHAT kind of shampoo you use, be sure to rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse and then when you think you're done, rinse again! Shampoo residue will just create more dandruff!

I like to use Selsen Blue, let sit for 10 mins, rinse like mad, then rinse again with Listerene, apply Eqyuus Conditioner... let the dry, comb out tail carefully and completely, and then apply Eqyuus Micro-Tek. That has worked for me when trying to clear up bad tail, mane or forelock dandruff...

Also changing diet somewhat to make sure your fats are balanced can help prevent dandruff.
