bad article

I just found this on the internet and I could'nt believe someone would actually write something like this. Whoever wrote this article really had no clue. The author takes things that are bad about specific riders and claims that they imply to every rider in the sport, the whole thing is ridiculous, here's the link:

Dressage Horse Abuse

I have seen that article before..

It's really sad to see someone think that way. But then again, everyone is titled to their own opinions.

Actually, reading through the article again, this guy really needs to get his facts straight..

They use those "nasty" bits to help communicate with the horse. And when those "nasty" bits, they use them CORRECTLY.

And they also use the spurs to help communicate with the horse. Once again, they are not hurting the horse in any way!

And "pushing" the horse is getting them to engage in their hindquarters and use themselves correctly. How is this hurting anyone?

And that Dressage riders have hearts as cold as stone.. Pshaw. Thats crud.

"Who writes the articles is irrelevant, but what is written is when perceived and understood, because the truth is self-evident and indifferent of the writer or speaker. Only fools take credit for writing or speaking the truth."

I found that on his homepage. He doesn't even have the guts to sign it. Idiot. Also, the pictures he had of rollkur and pawned them off as modern dressage. Idiot.

Geez wizz, I must be an abusive rider. Both horses I rode today I pushed forward, used a whip on one of them, and rode them in a normal sized dressage arena. AH HA HA HA, just watch me abuse my war horses!! Furthermore, my Grand Prix dressage instructor is a maliciouse abuser who told me to do so, AND she uses curb bits on her FEI level horses! Not to mention that I firmly believe the lie that riders are concentrating hard when they're riding. *rolls eyes*

Sorry, but what an IDIOT! I ride western, but I know that not much of what he was saying was true. I happen to be facinated by dressage and jumping, and know that those prix level horses are far too valuable to be riden on "hard ground, and too little space."

Haha you have to smile at people like that, actually I'd probably point and laugh but I can't find a little smiley dude that is pointing and laughing.

If it were a well-founded opinion based upon facts, then that is fine and I wouldn't have a preoblem with the author having their own opinion. But because it is obviously misguided the author is not only delusional but stupid.

The unfortunate part of this is that some poor ignorant person surfing the net probably now has the completely wrong idea about what dressage is all about.
