I find it interesting that its not signed by the Author...simply "J.G."

If he feels so strongly about his views and actually believes the cr*p he is speuing.....then why not stand behind it and sign his name?

I will say; regardless if he is waayyy off base in some of his accusations, I can see, in some small way why he feels the way he does.... As a dressage student myself and also a lover of the sport, I can still say that I've seen it taken to extreames and "tools" such as spurs, whips, hands, etc... abused. However, I don't believe that to be the norm at all, especially in a sport that is all about harmony with your mount.

His (or her) article is very extreame to be sure.....perhaps he's with PETA?

After reading through most pages, I have a strong feeling that the author is a polo rider.

Now, I won't even pretend that I know much about polo, but don't those horses get whacked with the polo stick thing every once and a while? And they do pretty tight turns at high speed...

I smell a hypocrite.

the guy who wrote the article has a personal web page, on it he has his "horse life" posted. It says he was a rodeo rider (bronco busting), and was involved in training racehorses for a while among other things. I'd say he's a bit of a hypocrite.
