we use those "severe" aids so we barely have to touch the horse and they know what we want, does she rather want us to ride around ripping at our horses faces and booting them in the belly?

Let me not forget the "manhood" presence in "dressage" these days. I can understand and bear a woman being vain, silly and unreasonable, but when a man acts like a woman it is just plain hard to bear for anyone, as much as for this horse, which is obvious from this pick. The man has the hands of a bricklayer, to which the horse's mouth testifies.
Ugh, Can we say SEXIST!!!!!

What a pathetic article, this is a good deffinition of arrogance. Clearly this person needs to do some research.

Sounds like someone watched one dressage lesson and decided it was too hard... Oh, I mean "abusive".

BrveHeart- you might want to type out the url in your post and make an inactive link. Google determines how important a page is by how many links point to it, so by adding a link to it, you're actually making it rank higher for people searching for information about dressage!

Wow, no research, no logical reasoning and sexism to boot! What an idiot!

And of course dressage riders shouldn't have to concentrate. Just like dancers don't have to concentrate. Their feet work on their own. All dressage riders are cruel, heartless people. of course... *rolls eyes*

And the lower levels of dressage competition are TRAINING levels. Does he seriously expect these GP horses to just suddenly know how to do it and know how to cope with the competition atmosphere?

If dressage is cruel, so is putting your horse in a paddock with fences. It restricts their natural movement.

I was also interested on the author of this website (which I couldn't find and nowhere does it list the author's credentials).
Anyway the author also has articles on other topics of horse "abuse" including: 4H, Reining, High stepping classes, the AQHA, natural horsemanship, thoroughbred racing, olympic games, eventing and all horse organizations and judges.
So don't feel bad dressage enthusiasts, it appears that the author considers all horse disciplines equally abusive.
Hahahaha, got to love freedom of speech and the internet for delivering it right to our computers.

Really? Could you explain how to do that, I'm not very good with computers and I have no clue how that would work .

WWWHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAA

Again, lets cut the name calling down!

For all we know it is more IGNORANCE than idiocy.

Which does it give this person RIGHT to say what they said the way they said it? NO. But it doesn't give us the right, without knowing, to call him/her names about his knowledge (or lack of it)

As for the article, Correct it. Everyone, take a section!

I have to run, but I'm excited to see the corrections. let the FACTS and rebuttles flow people!!!

See the other articles. OMG, we need a thread for each section!

HOWEVER, it is hard to critique the person writing it without him/her here to defend their side.
