Background on Winston

I finally had a member motivate me to call my new horse Winston's previous old owner... (make sense?) Not the one I bough him from, the one she bought him from.

Well she said she got him as a 2 year old, all the training was done by her (at the time she was 14). He NEVER was in a stall, except when he was hurt, and he messed it up so bad (the stall) she never kept him in it. SO that explains why he hates being in the stall and is so nervous.

He is horrible on trail rides, he is a chicken (found that out) and that he hates water, will jump a whole creek if he can avoid being wet. (learned that the hard way)... he is better with a group, but hates to go by himself. Think that is just a security thing, if he trust me he might get better.

SO basically everything that I had thought, was true!~ I did think he had formal training, but maybe the last person had some on him.

At least I know now, and don't have to wonder. I told her I changed his name, she said he didn't look like a chico either, and I told her I changed it to winston and she liked that, said he does look like one!

Told her to come down ANY time to ride, and visit... she was always welcome!

Oh thats cool!! It is nice to know the history, expeically when it comes down to one of your horses. It sounds like you know him well! I think it is super nice that you offered for her to come and ride, your so nice!

Well that just tells you how well you can read a horse. She really didn't tell you anything that you didin't already know. It is still nice to be confirmed. You had definately already figured out the water thing. LOL

Like Belle said, nothing you already didn't know. But I'm glad you called. I keep in contact with Timmy's owner/trainer, too. I email him if I ever have questions. He is always very helpful.
