Back to that smile, Finally.

After only a month of leasing him, that "smile" is finally back to my face. It hasn't been there since I let go of Willow over a year ago. I've ridden a few horses inbetween, but haven't gotten attached to any of them. After Willow I never thought I'd be able to get attached again. I'm sitting here crying just because I am so happy. That love for going out to the barn is back, the commiment and dedcation is back in my heart thanks to Flash. I'm in the midst of pretty much completey re-training this horse. I'm the only person thats acutally really cared about him, and he loves having me there every day even if its just not to ride. He nickers to me now, and works his hardest on everything new I show him.

This past weekend i took him on that Fair Hill HGS ride. That was his first trail ride ever, and first place besdies the barn and the track. He was amazing, I couldn't of asked him to be any more well behaved. Emotionally and physically, and has just gotten me active again. After August, Its going to be hard for me to afford this wonderful boy because I'm going to college (locally), but if I have to I will work an extra 10 hours a week just to afford him.

Sorry if this is a silly thread, its just I'm so happy that I finally have something really great to ride... I apperciate it that much more now.

How could I not love this face? He's proven to be one amazing horse.

It is always nice to read of someone happy. I hope the feeling continues for years.

This is definately not a silly thread. I know how it feels to have had a good horse and then try to get along with one that is, well I'll just say "not as good".

When a horse will work for and with you instead of making YOU work for everything you can get out of it, the enthusiasm for riding comes back - with a vengeance!

And don't feel bad about crying. They're happy tears, well deserved. I'll say a prayer that you find a way to hold on to this very special horse for a very long time.

aaawwww... I am so glad you are so crazy over this horse...!

I too also love to hear about someone gushing over their horse, it shows how much they are loved.

It always great to have a horse that you just mesh with or that has a great, kind and gentle personality.

Flash sure is handsome!

. I'm so esctatic like you have no idea lol! I honestlly never thought he'd progress this fast in only a month of work after having 2 1/2 years off.
