Back to scholl for security....and horses

I just found out about a fast growing job ooportunity for me to be paid to ride my horse. The U.S. Border Patrol has over 3,000 slots of riders that patrol borders where they cannot take any other vehicle. And the pay starts at 35 k a year plus benefits. all that is required is a bachelors degree, preferably in Law Enforcement, and a physical exam. So im heading back to school to get that degree. Maybe some of you who are more adventurous would liek to consider the same.

I'd love to, be sure you are bilingual. you don't HAVE to have a CJ background. It is "recommended" but not required. There are leveling courses you can take to make what BS degree you do have supported with a few CJ classes. But they train you either way.

Not being bilingual and not enough CJ classes nailed my application to the trash bin.

that and I wouldn't pass the physical cause of my back. DIdn't even make it that far though. LOL

Good for you! How awesome would that job be! I'm so jealous! To get to ride all day long AND get paid to do so...sigh.

Gee I wish I had known about that about 30 years ago! lol it sounds like a perfect job, with nice pay and benefits! go for it! Cathy
