Back in the saddle after my fall! WHOOHOOO

Ok, if you read my previous thread "so fuming mad with my trainer" then you know I had a nasty fall and my back is kinda screwed up.

Anyway, I had a friend here from Germany who's on the show jumping circuit up there now and is jumping over 4ft with her horse and placing in every class. Well, she came up to the barn with me to work me through my fear as I really felt I had lost my confidence from my fall.

She put the jumps down to just cross rails for me to just get comfortable and after a few times doing it, I started to feel good again, Murphy was behaving AMAZING, so she asked if I wanted to jump some other jumps. Welll, they looked kinda high..they were set at 3'3, so I said sure, if she dropped the poles one notch, which she did and guess what,..I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!! And I was fine, found my distances, felt very comfortable, it was SUPER! Then she jacked up the ramped oxer to 3'3 in a one stride and I did that too and LOVED it! My back is a little sore, but I knew if I didn't get back in the saddle as soon as possible, I wasn't going to.

So, there ya have it, I'm so happy she helped me out!! Not sure my trainer is very happy about it, but ya know what..WHO CARES!!!

Good for you!! I'm struggling with confidence issues where jumping is concerned too - but I (unfortunately) totally quit jumping after a nasty pileup. That was 20 years ago.

Yes, it's MUCH better if you get right back on again, I'm sure!!!

Good on you!!! If your trainer isn't happy about it, GET A NEW TRAINER!!!

She should be thrilled that someone has helped you get your confidence back and you're ready to work again, even if it wasn't her. I'd think she would be doubly thrilled that you turned to a friend instead of another trainer.

hahahaha, you'd think, but she's very strange in that sort of way. She's almost threatened by my friend, but I think it's because my friend is now doing what she (my trainer) used to do and is heading towards her eventual goal, which is the olympics, while my trainer never quite got there, oh well.

Thanks for the post
