Back hooves clicking

When cantering on the right lead, slim's back hooves hit one another.

This hasn't always been going on, it started about a month ago.

Is it possible the farrier could fix this, or what are possible remedies?

You need to start by looking at hoof balance, but if the hooves are balanced then you need to have a vet exam to ruleout pain or neurological deficits causing the change in leg movement.

Yes your farrier should be able to fix it, or your farrier may be the problem. How long have you used this farrier. A good farrier should be able to fix it. My mare used to do this as well, the old farrier was leaving her to long and when I got a new farrier within a couple of trims she was fine. I am not saying your farrier is bad, but you definately need to discuss it with him, he may not even know there is a problem. Were there are injuries that might have contributed to the problem. Until you get it fixed I would recommend bell boots to help protect his/her front legs.

1. Back feet are too long
2. Front feet are too long
3. Horse is being allowed to be lazy
4. Something physical is causing her to not be able to get her front end out of the way.

Ready, set, go
