| Senior Member+ | Back from MO...short update!
HEY GUYS!!!! I have OODLES of work to do from being gone two days from work. I was going to update tomorrow with pics(I forgot them at home) but since it seems like ya'll are impatient(suprise suprise...lol) I will give you a quick update. We made it out there at 10:30 Thurs. night. Trip went well, didn't take the route I thought we were(I-80), so it took longer, we took I-70 or something like that...was a longer trip. Got held up in two cities for traffic, three accidents, one was really awful 7+cars, two burned, 4 fatalities(God rest their souls), 4 seriously injured. It happened right infront of us. It was awful, I wish I was an EMT or paramedic, so I could have helped. The emergency vehicles couldnt' get there very quickly at all(we were in the middle of NO-WHERE!). Anyways......Friday, I played with horses all day. Got halters on two of the two year olds, they have NEVER been handled, never wormed, never vaccinated, etc. Its a trip. they are kinda in bad shape, they need worming and groceries. The third is REALLY wild. One stud cold(to be gelded June 8, he is still out there) was really a character. The second filly(brought her back) is curious, friendly, but still cautious. The third filly(brought her back) is the WILD one. Can't touch her. We had quite an array of horses to choose from. Was planning on brining back a pony(he stayed in MO) a broodmare(stayed in MO, will be coming back after foal is weaned) and two 2-year olds. Well.....we brought back a 4-year old stud(GORGEOUS BOY!!! OMG......the most gorgeous MFT horse I have ever seen) and the two fillies. We were considering bringing back a gelding who is at least 16.3 hh. NO JOKE!! I have pics of him to show you. I am supposed to be flying out there in a couple of weeks and driving back with here with another load of them, including the pony, the 2-yr old gelding, and the tall gelding. I'm not a 100% sure of that though. Anyways, our trip back took longer than expected....traffic, construction, etc. We had everyone loaded in less than 15 minutes. The stud walked up to the trailer and pratically JUMPED into it. We shut the middle part, so he had the front to himself. The two fillies, we just backed upto their shed and herded(gently letting them move and not getting excited) into the back. We didn't get home until 2am Sunday morning, and left MO about 7am (their time) Sat. morning. No-one showed any signs of stress and they are all eating, pooing, drinking and running around just fine. We have been SOOO busy, because we are building another paddock for Mr. Sabre(stud) that is studly proof. I PROMISE I will get pics up tomorrow. Whew...that was longer than I thought it would be. Thanks for all your thoughts, and crossed fingers! Holly |

I was so excited yesterday.....I was brushing one of the fillies(the one that we got a halter on, she is MUCH more friendly), Bianca, and I actually got to touch the other one ..... just a little. I didn't want to over-do it...so I just touched her gently twice and then ignored her. Holly | |
