Baby's First Bath today!

My baby got her first bath today and she was such a good girl! She really got into the scrubing and towel drying. She was lifting up her back leg like a dog going pee every time you would scub the inside of her hip!! Silly girl! Now she does that every time you start to scratch her hip begging for it. I think she is going to be a dark paly. What do you guys think???

I attached a couple pics of her soaked and dry. I couldn't resist. . .

What a cutie! I didn't know you had a foal, especially a Palomino!!!

COOL, how old is she? A Quarter Horse, I presume.... I'm jealous... I wanted a FILLY so bad!!!!

I think her weight looks all right... I don't see any ribs showing.

I actually have a funny and embarassing story about when my colt was born. He was my first personal foaling experience... we had some problems with my mare after he was born, so when my mom asked what it was I was a little stressed out. She was on the outside of the stall, in the safety zone and I'm trying to check the foal's gender with my mare ******** out behind me... so anyways, I pick up his leg and look... get so excited and yell, "IT'S A FILLY!!!!"

The next morning my vet shows up, I've been up almost 2 straight nights in a row, I'm dead tired... I'm holding one arm around his chest and the other hand is holding his tail... I glance down and confused tell my vet

"She's deformed! She only has one hole!!!"

(OH GEEZ... I still blush for that) she turned to me, gave a patient look and said, "Tonya, that would be a colt."

I have no clue about what color Palomino she might be... I've been trying to figure that out with Teak since he was born... she does seem to be darker than he was... I couldn't even tell where his white socks were! What's your filly's name? Does she have any white?

You gave me such a good laugh !!!!!

She is a breeding stock paint. No white, no pink skin anywhere that I can find. I'm not sure on the white legs yet, since she is so light. She has four white feet?? every Paly i've had (I've had a lot of them) has only had white feet w/ white stockings?? She's such a good girl! I'm taking her for her first trailer and trail ride today!! wish me luck!

She is sooooooo pretty!! I bet you love her to pieces!

BTW, good idea tying her to mommy, haha, will have to remember that! As for the color thing. Our palomino was a real light color when he was little too, then after he shed out after his first winter he got really dark pretty palomino. So might be what your girl does

Let us know how the trail ride goes!
