Baby woes... sigh...

I feel much better now that I can hide Allure away in a blanket until her goofy butt evens out and starts looking like a horse again!

Today I took her blanket off, worked on her mane a bit, and turned her out in our huge roundpen to stretch her legs. No worries, it's fine... it really is massive and she was not running around in circles... but in straight lines. Heheh.

On the plus side, it looks like she's going to have exactly the trot I was hoping for when I paired her parents... yay! Mom's most excellent trot, with a bit of a "softer" side from dad. She just floats. I can't WAIT to ride her!

On the negative side, well, she's extremely wooly and hard to look at. Also, she is downhill again, at least by a couple of inches... and it has BUTCHERED her canter... today she was doing this super-slow, horrible western pleasure lope... "WHAT are you doing, filly?! What is that garbage!? Knock it off!" Heheheh. Amusing little thing, she is.

I love her, but man, it was nice to flop that blanket back on her and kick her back out into the pasture.

She'll be 1.8 on the 18th. She's 13.2ish (I think, have not sticked her formally, just used a soft tape and a ruler) at the shoulder and maybe as much as two inches high behind. She always catches up to herself just in time to get all out of whack again... I don't expect her to mature into a particularly downhill horse.

Ah well. At least she's (mostly) well-behaved.

You are crazy. I don't think Allure could ever look ugly no matter what she did. lol

Oh I feel you there! Couple of months ago I looked at Venus and went....akkkkk....where is my pretty little filly????? She is finally starting to grow into herself again only to get all out of wack next week I am sure.

The wollies definately don't help. Venus has the Friesian beard thing going on. I have been too busy to get out there with the clippers and shrink her head back to normal size, lol

Baha. I haven't seen "even" on three of my horses in the last YEAR, year and a half for Parker. They always seem downhill, but sometimes its just horribly down hill. Dear lord, they're fugly... works like a slanted roof, though, the water rolls right off, LOL.
