Yesterday I took Queen out on a trail ride with our YO and one of her horses. Afterwards, we turned them out, but there's a small area of the upper paddock that's sectioned off as a makeshift roundpen. The herd's filly was going to be worked, so I stayed to watch. Well, Queen and "the boys" wandered off to graze, then they came up to watch with us. Queen walked up to me and just hung out for awhile. I was able to reach over or back and rub her muzzle, she let me scratch her ears, etc. Just a very mellow time, even when the filly (3 year old saddlebred) was acting spazzy.
The YO also told me that Queen's been sacking herself out.

The stuff she (YO) uses to desensitize the horses during training sits at the outside edge of the "roundpen", which is INSIDE the upper paddock, so the horses in the paddock are pretty much free to check it all out. Q went a bit farther, by grabbing a rope, then freaked when the rope followed her. So she started running around the paddock, dragging this rope! She didn't know that if she dropped it, it wouldn't follow her!

She did the same thing with a tarp. Big dope! Gotta love 'em though!
