aww, i love the people at my barn!

They are so sweet. I just finished reading a post about barn drama and I am so glad we dont have any of that...except one family but thats a whole different story.

First thing, my trainer and I worked out a deal so I could get my horse. My trainer also allowed an inexperienced 15 year old into her barn to look after her horses and clean their stalls. I cant thank her enough for that.

Secondly Player hurt his leg pretty bad. puncture wound..there is a thread in horse health. Anyway when she saw it she brought him in and cleaned him up all nice. then put him back out. then the next two days (until i could get out there) she did the same thing. she taught me how to wrap a leg and how to apply meds. She has just been fantastic.

A boarder at the barn gave me a breat collar to try on Player. It is the same colour as the saddle and it fits so I asked her how much she wanted for it...she said 10 bucks

WOW what a deal, it is a really nice breast collar. dirty and old but she said it was in the back of her closet and it was going to waste so she would rather sell it. Then she also had a riding jacket..belong to Norma Jean (dressage) and I asked her how much she wwanted for that...again 10 bucks...so I pulled 20 bucks out of my pocket and gave her it...said thank you so much.

Then I am looking for a new bit for Player...I have NO idea on the kinds of bits. I was talking to one of the other trainers that go out there sometimes...he was like well I have a tomthumb (what I used in my show) Ill bring it there for you... I had met this guy once. He didnt bring it but its the thought that counts. So my trainer said next time she goes into the city she will pick me up one and ill just give her the money.

In my locker I have a saddle rack. It is mounted to high so I cant put my western saddle in tehre. I was struggling today and one of the boarders whose daughter was in a lesson was like hey i got nothing better to do I will remount it lower for you.

One of the other people I work with on weekends, her and I are friends so she takes me to her house on Sundays and we have perogies with bacon and onions fried up and watch tv together. I love it. That is our sunday tradition.

So in all the people at my barn are so awsome. I love them to peices and am so happy I found where I am.

Sounds like you found a really good barn!My grandpa lets me ut my 2 horses in there with his mare and my cousins horse.We all live right next door to each other so I can walk out the house and see them.

That sounds like an awesome situation. There seems to be a barn/trainer for everyone, and it looks like you have found the current best possible place!

Thanks everyone, i hope I have found the perfect place. I love it, i love the horses, i love the people...even the BO's husband is such a sweety. Player chipped his hoof and the husband came out and fixed it up for me free of charge.

I hope to stay with these people till I go to college/university. I will hopefully be able to keep him there when I go off to school as the furthest I will go is to Olds college.

That sounds awesome. I was starting to think there werent barns out there like that.

All of the barns i have been at had barn drama. It was horrible. You couldnt even enjoy your horse its so bad. Uh...man the stories i could tell you guys, would blow your mind.

But i am glad you are at a barn you love and that you have such nice people there with you.

thanks, i didnt think I would find one like this one. It makes me so happy knowing there are people out there that just like to help others lol..

You should consider yourself very lucky, and I am very happy for you. All the places I boarded at except one was so much drama.

i would NOT be able to stand that. I would probably go out there at like 9 to ride my horse and wouldnt go out there unless i was riding my horse. of course then the people would probably be like "what a bad owner, never even sees her horse" lol.

I feel very privaleged

I used to do exactly that, I would figure everyone else's schedule and work around it. Luckily I feel lucky now, no more boarding, horses are right here with me. It is so much better than dealing with other people.
