Awesome awesome weekend with Shrek!!

I had such an awesome few days with Shrek!! As some of you know I had a bit of a rough time with Shrek with previous boarding situations and having to move him a couple of times. When I moved him to his temporary (but much better home) and he was feeling better he started to develop a bad habit of playing hard to catch when I went out to get him. It was quite frustrating, and I felt like Shrek didn't like me!! Anyways, at his new home I bought some horse cubes and started to carry a couple in my pocket and rewarded him when he let me get near him. Well, on Friday I went out to the field to catch him and he was wayyyyy across the field and I started to walk across but only got about 5 feet in and he looked up and when he saw me he started to trot in my direction. So I stopped and waited, at first I thought okay, well he's just gonna trot right past me, but nope! he trotted right up to me and stopped in front of me!! I was so ecstatic. But the next day when I went out in the field I thought that there was no way he would do it again and the first time was just a fluke, but again, once he saw me he trotted right up to me again!! And so today, I just had to bring hubby with me to show him Shrek's new trick and the good boy didn't dissappoint!!

I also had a good couple of training sessions with him, he's just listening sooooo good, and I even trotted on him for the first time, and WOW he is as smooth as glass at a trot!!

His weight is improving immensely too, he's looking so great, I am just so pleased with how he is coming along!! Tomorrow I am gonna take pics and see if you all can see the difference in his weight from the last time I posted pics!!

LOL, so sorry if this is sooooooooo long, but I just had to share my excitement. I was trying so hard not to fall in love, but I think my heart is now taken lol!!!!!!!!!!!!

So glad to hear about a good weekend...dont you just love smooth trots!!?? Mr. C has a trot to die for...I love it.

Thats great Mona!!! I am sooooo happy that you and Shrek are doing so well! I cant wait to meet him! He is such a cutiee!!!! Now post some more pics of you riding him ASAP!!!!!
