As if! Soooo Frustrated

Ok, i just got back from the barn and im so upset! My boss's family went on vaction during spring break, so me being the only worker for the barn, i was in charge of the horses for the whole 11 days. I don't mind working with the horses and all, but i have to admit it sucked because i had to drive out there (and back home) at least 3 times a day (i like 20 mins.away).

There's a girl training 2 of the horses at the barn, and she tends to come out at the same time im bringing horses in,feeding, etc. Her mom usually comes with her, i don't know why....she's like 25. Well, her mom always just stands aroudn and watches me like a hawk, and it's kind of disturbing because i'v been working with these horses for 3 years, and im not stupid around them either.

Well, tonight i went out to work my horse (since i hadn't had the chance because they took all the arena time during spring break) and they were there again! I don't want to cause problems but i'd like to ride too, and it isn't fair that she takes up the whole arena everytime. Anyways, im riding and once again her mom is there watching me like a hawk. And then, my boss comes down and we're chatting and she joins in. He said something along the lines of " taking your time on your horse tonight i see", joking because i always groom my horse a lot. And then she pipes up ...exact words " ya, you should have seen her all break, we had to help her with the horses and she was sure dragging her butt around here...im surprised she got anything done" i was stunned, she wasn't joking eithier, and my boss just kinda looked at me.

Like wow, im hurt she'd even lie like that! I dont know what she has against me, and i dont want to have any tension in the barn! It's hard, shes older and good friends with the family and who is he going to belive! i work harder than anyone at that barn, and she even knows it!

I don't know what to do, but i needed to vent...sorry it was so long, but im so frustrated!

i don't like labeling people but she's one of those ' mean, gruff' looking women who are always like 'ya well, that's nothing... i had to do this and that, blah blah blah". Argh, she's gotta be over 50, i mean, shouldn't she be the mature one!?

that's really immature of her to say! Did she say it so that you could hear it? Or did your boss have to tell you after? I would have been really mad. But I would just talk to your boss about it.

yes, she said it while i was standing right there! It's none of her business to begin with, even though her daughter is a trainer SHE is still just visitor at the barn. I could see if i had done something wrong or dangerous worth complaining about but she totally made it up! I feel like she's out to get me for something but i don't know what!

Are you going to say anything to your boss about it? Does her daughter know what she had said? Did your boss say anything to you after???

No, he had to go up to the house to wash the dog, lol. I know he knows the work i do around there, he leaves the horses with me every summer/break. Im not too worried about what he thinks, but i will talk to him. I mean, if it was my barn and i heard stuff liek that i would be concerned about leaving the horses with a stable hand who did "that stuff". I just felt so cornered, i won't talk back to this lady but gosh, how rude! Her daughter might have heard, im not sure...but she's pretty opinionated too.

ugh there seems to be at least one at every barn.

I think its weird when parents come to watch their children ride all the time ...every time unless their like under 10 or somthing.
