Arena sizes..doesn't fit anywhere else?
Just a few questions..
I'm currently looking to move my horses home to my house. We are about 3 weeks away and I have been thinking about riding area space for a while (I have quite a few areas avaliable) so if you guys could let me know your thoughts and suggestions that would be great!
Area 1. Small back pasture, size is 60-65' x 101' and will be used as a resting pasture to give my large front one a break every now and then, its fenced in and in a nice location.
Area 2. Small side barn area that will be fenced in, size can be 60' (minimum is 55 feet, I am estimating) x 85'+ (I can run the lenth of my back pasture and barn which is around 130' total but that cuts into my back yard..) 1/2 of the far side (around 10 feet of the side) is on somewhat of an incline..I don't know if this present a problem, its not very much.
Area 3. My back yard..the grass isn't in the best shape already and my parents have given me permission to ride on it a few times a week. I have half of it that can be ridden in which is around 80' x 65'-70' minimum, I can't fence it in but it would be nice for figure eights
(I also have a larger front pasture thats around 85' x 160' that I can ride in if needed)
do you think any of these areas are to small? I have already checked into the neighboring horse riding arenas and none of them allow people to come in and ride in the arenas except one, and that is only in the winter. I also don't have a trailer readily avaliable yet, only upon special request.
