Are you homeschooled

I need some of your guys advice on homeschooling.

Your likes, your dislikes.

Does it seem to work better for your learning?

What material do you use?

How is your social life and your exercising, do you still stay active?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

I was home schooled in Kindergarten, 2nd, 6, and half of 7th.. I was put in public at 7th because I was failing idk if it was just the way it the program was set up or not but in public school I was an honor roll student..

I liked public school mostly except for the waking up early thing but if you've got to learn, you mine as well do it with people you like lol... I will say my first was HARD.. I had not been to a public school and I knew absolutely no one and it was already half way through the year... that was not a fun year but it got a whole lot better my senior year was amazing lol

I like just about all of it!

Does it seem to work better for your learning? Definitely. I can focus so much better, plus I can go at my own pace...if I don't understand something, I can go over it again and again.

What material do you use? I do an online school called The Jubilee Academy.

How is your social life and your exercising, do you still stay active? My social life is more social then a lot of public schoolers! I have more time to do things.

No, but we thought about it. But in the end i decided that it wasn't pratical for me because i knew that i wasn't self disciplined enough to do the work that i was supposed to do (i'm the kinda student, that unless the teachers force me to hand in the homework i wont kinda thing) and i know its bad but that would have been an issue. I also thought that i would miss the social aspect of things, i thought if i was going to have to do the work and school then i might as well meet new people and hang out with friends at the same time.

so yeah thats why we never looked further into home schooling, plus i found a smaller school that i loved!

I'm homeschooled and personally, I LOVE it. I've never been to public school (I'm in 11th grade and been homeschooled my whole life) , but I still wouldn't ever want to go to public school for several reasons..... Being:

1. Homeschooling gives me freedom. I can do school in my pjs if I want to; eat breakfast while working on Math, etc. Mostly though, the freedom comes in the hours. I can EASILY get my school done by lunch time, where as in public schools ya don't get out till 3:00 at least, right?

2. My mom is my teacher and she's awesome at it!

3. I'm at home, in the comfort of home

and yes I get my social life too -- - ohhh yeaah I do--- what with work, homeschool functions (with the other homeschoolers around here), field trips, shopping, hanging with my friends, etc.... I get out a lot!

We use a mixed curriculum; a bunch of everything, according to what we like......

Hope this helped!

I am homeschooled, and I really like it! Right now I am taking 4 only high school classes and am swamped (I really should be on here right now!) But I really like it because I am more flexibility! Some people think that being home schooled sucks, but I LOVE it! I am also part of a charter school, wich is really nice, they provide money for curriculum and classes, so it is really sweat, and they have someone that comes to your house once a month to see how you are doing.

This is good to hear. I'm thinking of homeschooling my 1st grader. Problem is I have 3 younger kids at home and would I get it done?

Do you have younger siblings?

I have 3 younger siblings, and my mom is homeschooling us all. You have to make it a point to get it done. I think once you get into a daily routine, it gets more easy.

I have a younger brother, and you just have to remember to get it done, and not to goof off!

I was homeschooled from 1st to the 6th grade, then I stayed in school until 11th grade. (I'd be a senior right now)

I really like it, honestly I can focus much more on what I KNOW I want to do which is equine science. My mom bought me an equine science college book and I use that alot, we have other books but she got me a christian based homeschool plan, and even in my math book they mention God on every page, so I'm really not a fan

My social life is...somewhat active? LOL that's not due to being homeschooled though, that's due to always being horse busy. I've got some close friends from school I still hang out with, and I pretty much keep contact with everyone through myspace and facebook.

I was originally homeschooled to have more time for Starlite, which worked out really well because my mom worked evenings so we went to the barn during the day. I honestly don't think I could have handled school and a horse, I know that sounds silly, but in school I had suicide drama (which is why I left again) and I had so much horse drama, I REALLY don't think I could have stayed sane dealing with both!

I enjoy being homeschooled, I miss school sometimes, I still go to some activities like dances, games, etc. but it's not the same. I'm pretty happy with my decision though
